Kahala, Home to Royalty

August 1, 2018 //  by Vancouver Boulevard

Written by  LACY LYONS

This Summer

fashionable women of Kahala will be adorned in hand crafted, one-of-a-kind jewelry made with diamonds and Tahitian pearls. Resort wear, linen and light fabrics are encouraged during all seasons of the year, but especially during summer months. For men, slim-cut and tailored “Aloha Shirts” are a must have. Whether drinking fine whisky at the Waialae Country Club after golf or having dinner at Arancino, the gentleman of Kahala will be sporting their custom crafted Panama hats from Newt at the Royal which range from $3,000 USD – $12,000 USD.

Historically, Kahala was where the Hawaiian royalty resided

The large estates provided the echelon with a hidden paradise. Geographically, the area offers breathtaking ocean views and cool breezes from the mountain ranges. If you are lucky enough to live on the white sandy shores of Kahala beach, you may catch a glimpse of a celebrity or model tanning. Currently, the neighborhood has become famous among the affluent and is considered one of the most luxurious and exclusive neighborhoods in Hawaii. Conveniently located at the base of Diamond Head and only a few minutes to Waikiki offering access to some of the best restaurants, shopping and experiences in Hawaii.

One popular destination is the Kahala Resort which sits on the south-east of Oahu and offers a fine dining restaurant, award-winning spa, and private suites that sleep on a secluded white sand beach. The privacy of the location provides guests with a  tranquil vacation away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. High-tea is served at the Veranda and is a popular place for women to be seen in the latest fashion.

The Sony Open

which is held at the course at the Waialae Country Club offers a first hand view of professional golf at it’s finest. The event, which is held annually in January, attracts the sports most elite. The club itself is home to members who maintain reputations in Hawaii’s business and professional realm.

Hawaii’s isolation and steady climate provides the perfect weather almost year round and attracts Canadian visitors escaping from the harsh winters and mundane summers. The growing city of Honolulu as a city is considered one of America’s “best places to live” by private polls, yet Kahala has always been one of the “best places to live”.
