Stylish, modern and full of charm, this apartment in Moscow, Russia is the home of a young family. Designer Ekaterina Lashmanova designed for them a fresh and stylish interior that is not just a home, but a creative, inspirational living space. From high ceilings to detailed curtains, everything is custom-made by skilled craftsmen.
The high ceiling and the floor-to-ceiling glass windows makes the living room bright, transparent and spacious, while offering an unobstructed beautiful city view of Moscow. The smoky gray walls, beige sofas, green and blue armchairs, and the large use of Morandi’s own high-grade, three-color geometric floor not only adds texture and interest to the room, but brings together the colors harmoniously. The “Morandi” color is derived from the paintings of the Italian painter Morandi. His works utilize moderate hue in low saturation, looking like a “stained layer of gray”. To use “Morandi” color, the industry blends gray and white into the original color to lessen its strength. The low saturation of the Morandi color creates an exquisite feel, while the gold colored coffee and side tables, chandeliers and the gold color on the chair legs adds luxury and sophistication to the space.
Through adjacent doors is the kitchen and dining room. The diamond-shaped flooring makes this space separate yet connected to the living room. The sand blue dining chairs, round, light ochre dining table, beige kitchen cabinets are in harmony with the flooring.
Decorated with a bit of gold and light pink, the beige colored master bedroom is exquisitely warm and comfortable; it fully relaxes and soothes one’s spirit, and makes one want to fall into the big, soft bed for a sweet dream. The pink and gold combination in the bathroom is young and fashionable. The pink lacquered walls, gold bordered art mirrors are full of charm. The artistic marble wall gives a luxurious, calm and sober feel. High-end, stylish and artistic, this Moscow apartment shows the ultimate in design.
