Italian Luxury Brand Max Mara Release Limited Edition Purse for Vancouver
As the ultimate thank-you to Vancouver, Italian fashion house Max Mara has created a handbag for a city that’s been good to this brand for over 30 years. It’s pink, it’s plush and it’s limited edition – very limited, as in only 35 units available in the world.
“The Vancouver woman is sophisticated, but relaxed,” said the handbag’s designer, Elena Pesci at an exclusive launch party in Vancouver. “The fashion here is beautiful but very different from what we see in Italy…women here are playful.”
“Sophisticated and playful” perfectly describe this handbag, which features mink fur angled sides flanking a suede leather front, all in a soft powder pink. The angles were designed to mimic Vancouver’s iconic glass towers that dominate the skyline, and the juxtaposition of textures reflects Vancouver’s similarly diverse terrain, which ranges from mountains to forests to water.
The purse comes with a removable calf leather shoulder strap (long enough to wear crossbody) and two calf leather top handles detailed with rose gold palladium hardware and a magnetic closure. The sides can be tucked in, origami style, to create a more bucket-bag silhouette, making this a truly versatile piece.
Each handbag also comes with a complimentary matching leather snap-closure pouch (with a retail value of $395) and detachable pocket mirror. Inside, each purse is individually numbered on a specially designed tag that depicts Vancouver’s skyline, featuring Harbour Centre. To protect both purse and pouch, each come with matching dust bags that also showcase Vancouver’s skyline.
Anticipation for this handbag is so fierce that a devoted Max Mara fan waited for hours before the preview event to ensure she was able to acquire the #1 serial in this collection.
