Spring is a perfect time for weddings. In the March issue of our magazine, we shared about trends in wedding dresses and venue decorations, as well as tips on setting banquet budgets. Today, let us look at wedding venues. After all, it is a key part of the wedding.
On April 2nd, the Fairmont Pacific Rim hosted a special event to officially launch its own wedding brand – Weddings at Fairmont Pacific Rim.
The first part of the event was a long-table banquet, which showed the beauty of a wedding at a hotel, the banquet decoration used and the outstanding quality of fusion cuisine. Walking past the white arches are long white tables set up in the spacious hall outside the Star Sapphire Ballroom. The colourful fresh flowers and art designs make the tables look stylish, luxurious and romantic. Glass candle holders stacked up in the center of the table creates a screen that blurs the view of the guests on opposite sides of the table, giving an out of reality aesthetic feeling.
The four-course menu features cuisines from China to India, Western Pacific to Asia and to the Middle East. The name of each course reveals the combination of cuisines used. The appetizer, named “Pacific Northwest”, gathers the essence of the Pacific Northwest – jumbo crab, smoked salmon, American Honeycrisp apple with Northern Divine Caviar. The second course, “Asian Fusion”, features marinated duck dumplings, crispy suckling pigs and grilled scallops. The third course, “A Taste of the Middle East”, combines Masala lamb loin, cumin potato patties and vegetables such as baby carrots and pea leaves. The dessert, called “Indian Inspired”, is a cardamom cake topped with rose flavored frozen yogurt and a pistachio meringue. Each course is not only beautifully presented, but tastefully prepared. When paired with wine, it is like icing on the cake.
After the banquet, a wedding runway show is set to begin in the hotel lobby. Models walk down the stairs and through the two long runways that are set up in the hall. The latest designs from Bisou Bridal, Stefano Ricci, Jason Matlo, House of Raina and Blush Bridal are displayed on the runway. Blush Bridal also brought along the new wedding dress by Vera Wang. Amidst the show was a special performance by Goh Ballet Dance Academy.
Together with its partners, the Fairmont Pacific Rim has completed this grand event, showcasing its standards in following trends in wedding preparation, decoration, ca
tering and wedding fashion. It also helps the Weddings at Fairmont Pacific Rim brand enter into the high end wedding market, offering a quality wedding venue choice for the bride and groom to be.
